The caseback, hidden away when wearing your timepiece, will often be forgotten by the wearer - but this is the part where brands like to engrave important details which we will learn about in this article.

For the third part of our Top Watch Collaborations series, we focus on a selection of five high-end watch manufacturers. These elite watch brands created some memorable collabs which drove amazing results for the brands that were involved.

Watches have been an essential tool for us for almost a century and it has improved leaps and bounds within this time. Still, it does not matter how expensive or complicated a watch’s material and structure is made with, there are still enemies it has trouble winning against - magnetism.

There’s a misunderstanding that good watches are only made by expensive bands for wealthy people who have a lot of cash to burn – and people with a more reasonable budget are left with sub-standard choices. These cool watch collabs will put that mindset to rest.

For the purpose of this contest, we refer to a frankenwatch as a watch built with non-matching parts to make something truly peculiar, outlandish, and shocking. Something you would normally never make. Do you have the evil genius to think of a mod that no one else can?

They open new doors and appeal to a new type of customer who would have been difficult to reach with a single brand’s traditional strategy.
